Whether you’re just beginning your journey of union involvement or already active in your unit, this program was designed with you in mind.

For members who have completed Labour activism and want to deepen their role as a union delegate or executive committee member.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to recognize situations that may lead to a grievance
  • When and how to file a grievance
  • How to write a clear and effective grievance

► Prerequisite:  Labour activism

You’ll be able to act more quickly and confidently when faced with an unfair situation. This course gives you concrete tools to defend your colleagues and ensure the collective agreement is respected. 

Duration: 1 day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For anyone who wants to understand how to prevent workplace accidents, learn more about their rights in health and safety, and get actively involved in their workplace.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to identify a workplace accident and understand your rights
  • The role of the union in health and safety
  • How to create a committee and it’s functions
  • How to conduct an investigation following an accident

You’ll leave with practical tools to protect your own health and that of your colleagues, respond more effectively in the event of an accident and assert your rights.

Duration: 3 days from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For anyone who wants to recognize the signs of psychological harassment, take action to prevent it and better understand the support and recourse available.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to identify risky behaviors and situations that may constitute harassment
  • The effects of psychological harassment on mental health and workplace culture
  • When and how to take action to prevent or intervene
  • The legal protections available and the role of the union

This course gives you practical tools to help create a healthier, more respectful, and supportive work environment. You’ll feel more confident stepping in, supporting coworkers and standing up for your rights.

Duration: 1 day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For anyone who wants to better understand the union’s role, learn how to get involved and take part in collective decision-making.

What you’ll learn:

  • The role of the executive committee, delegates, and union representatives
  • How to run a general assembly and take effective minutes
  • How to manage your unit’s finances and set up an expense policy

You’ll gain a solid foundation to get involved in your union. You’ll understand how decisions are made, how to defend your rights and how to make a real difference for your coworkers.

Duration: 2 days from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
