Fonds de solidarité des travailleurs du Québec (FTQ) – Agreement in principle accepted !

4 July 2023

At the general meeting held on June 29 at the Laval Sheraton, employees of the Fonds de solidarité des travailleurs du Québec (FTQ), members of the SEU 800, voted in favour of the agreement in principle reached the bargaining table.

Having been without a contract for almost 6 months, it took numerous negotiation meetings, pressure tactics including a demonstration, evening and weekend strikes and finally a full-day strike to reach an agreement on June 21.

‘’It was a long negotiation that required conciliation. The employer’s offers were simply not good enough. The negotiating committee worked tirelessly to reach an agreement that met members’ expectations. I’m proud of the solidarity of the members and the hard work of the negotiating team.” mentions Samia Aklil, union representative.

The main gains:

– Agreement on telecommuting for the entire 4-year term of the contract;

– Addition of development programs for career advancement; and

– Wage increases of 4% in 2023, 4% in 2024, 3% in 2025 and 3% in 2026.

In the coming weeks, the parties will meet to sign the texts of the new collective agreement. A copy will be sent to members as soon as possible.
