Territorial recognition

We acknowledge that the offices of the Union of Service Employees, Local 800, are located on the traditional territories of several First Nations (the Kanien’kehá:ka, the Anishinabeg, the Atikamekw Nehirowisiw, the Innu, and the W8banakiak)  which were never ceded through treaty. As a union, we honour and recognize the ongoing relationship and deep connection these Peoples maintain with their territories, in a spirit of respect for their past, present, and future. This land acknowledgment reflects our commitment to social justice and to building lasting, respectful relationships and advancing reconciliation with First Peoples.
