Are you a shareholder of the Fonds de solidarité FTQ? By September 30, you have an important right to exercise: choosing the people who will represent you on its Board of Directors.

The Fonds de solidarité FTQ was born out of the labour movement and the determination of workers to create a collective tool for savings and economic development. More than 40 years after its creation, this mission remains at the heart of its identity.

But for a workers’ fund to continue representing the voice and concerns of working people, workers themselves must take part in its democratic life.

That is why the 800 is encouraging its members who are Fonds shareholders to exercise their right to vote at the 42nd Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, which will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., both in person in Montréal and via webcast.

Four candidates endorsed by the QFL

To maintain strong labour representation on the Board of Directors and ensure that the interests of unionized shareholders are represented, the QFL recommends selecting four candidates among the five choices available on the ballot:

Loïc Breton

President of the Syndicat des employées et employés professionnels-les et de bureau (SEPB-Québec) since 2016, Loïc Breton has extensive experience in the labour movement, including as a local union president, volunteer organizer and union trainer. He has served on the Fonds’ Board of Directors since 2020.

Anouk Collet

Senior Advisor to the National President of UFCW Canada and Vice-President of the QFL, Anouk Collet has extensive experience in union representation and labour relations. A lawyer with a master’s degree in industrial relations, she has served on the Fonds’ Board of Directors since 2013.

Sylvie Nelson

President of the Syndicat québécois des employées et des employés de service, Local 298 (SQEES-298), Sylvie Nelson is also a Vice-President of the QFL and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). She has served on the Fonds’ Board of Directors since 2017.

Éric Gingras

President of the Centrale des syndicats du Québec (CSQ) since 2021, Éric Gingras previously served as President of the Syndicat de Champlain and worked as a teacher. Active in Québec’s labour movement for many years, he has served on the Fonds’ Board of Directors since 2022.

How to vote?

Fonds shareholders recently received their Notice of Meeting along with voting instructions. You will need your 13-character control number to vote online.

You can exercise your right to vote online before Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 4:45 p.m.

You can also vote during the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, October 3, either in person at the Centre Sheraton Montréal or remotely via webcast.

A simple action to make workers’ voices heard

Being a Fonds shareholder is about more than saving for retirement. It also means having a voice in how the Fonds is governed.

The Board of Directors plays an important role in setting the Fonds’ direction and ensuring that it remains true to its mission. By taking part in the election, shareholders can directly participate in its democratic life.

If you are a shareholder, take a few minutes to vote. Every vote helps ensure that workers’ voices are heard within the Fonds de solidarité FTQ.
