Building Services Group Insurance
Helping ensure a plan that reflects members’ realities
The group insurance plan plays an important role in the daily lives of many building services workers. The Building Services Group Insurance Committee helps monitor the plan and represent the interests of the members covered by it.
Plan monitoring and administration
The committee receives information regarding the overall administration of the group insurance plan and participates in discussions about how it operates. It also helps keep insured members informed about issues related to their coverage and available services.
Renewal analysis
Each year, the committee reviews the plan’s experience and the proposed renewal conditions. This process helps assess cost trends, available coverage and the realities experienced by members in order to make recommendations to the 800 leadership and insured members.
Representation
Made up primarily of members covered under the plan, the committee ensures insured members are represented in discussions related to their group insurance coverage. By remaining attentive to concerns raised in workplaces, the committee helps advocate for the needs and realities of building services workers.
