The new decree is officially published: wage increases take effect today
4 March 2026
Good news for workers responsible for the maintenance of public buildings in the Montreal region: the new collective agreement decree was published this morning in THE GAZETTE OFFICIELLE DU QUÉBEC.
In practical terms, the wage increases and other monetary provisions set out in the decree take effect today, March 4, 2026.
Under the new decree, the minimum hourly wage rates will be set at $23.25 for Classes A and B and $23.90 for Class C, with additional increases planned over the coming years.
The decree also includes several improvements to working conditions, including adjustments to certain premiums, enhancements to the collective pension plan, as well as changes to provisions related to leave and work organization.
This achievement is the result of a collective effort: the mobilization of members, political representations, and the many follow-ups carried out to move the file forward at every stage of the government process.
Today, these efforts are paying off.
Members concerned will therefore see their new wage rates and monetary conditions applied immediately, in accordance with the decree that has now been published.
