Beaulieu Canada workers call for good faith negotiations
8 October 2025
Acton Vale, October 8, 2025 – Employees of Beaulieu Canada (Division 3), represented by the Service Employees Union, Local 800 (SEU 800), went on strike today to increase pressure on the employer. Their goal: to put an end to the slow pace of negotiations and push management to reach a fair agreement with the bargaining committee.

One year of bargaining, no real progress
Talks began on October 15, 2024, but have yet to resolve the key issues in the collective agreement, which expired on December 13, 2024.
After nearly a year and 23 bargaining sessions, the employer continues to reject all union demands while holding firm to its own.
In response to this stalemate, employees voted unanimously in favor of pressure tactics at a meeting held on September 27.
A mediator already involved
Mr. Éric Varnier, a mediator from the Ministry of Labour, has been assisting both parties since February 2025, and additional meetings are scheduled in the coming weeks.
A clear message to the employer
“Our members have shown exemplary patience. After a year of discussions without progress, their message is clear: they want a fair and respectful agreement,” said Alexis Roy, union representative for SEU 800.
SEU 800 emphasizes that its members have contributed to Beaulieu Canada’s success for many years and deserve working conditions that reflect their commitment.
Solidarity with the strikers.
