GDI BBQ: Coming together to strengthen solidarity

26 September 2025

On August 23, members of the GDI-Distinction base unit gathered for a friendly BBQ at the SEU 800 headquarters. It was a great way to put into action the resolution adopted by members: creating more opportunities to meet in a relaxed setting, beyond formal union meetings.

In the housekeeping sector, colleagues rarely see each other. Spread across different contracts, often working evenings or after office hours, their work can be quite solitary. That’s why activities like this are so valuable: they offer a chance to connect, share experiences, and build a real network of colleagues.

“These simple moments allow us to create genuine bonds and get to know each other better, beyond work,” says Ingrid Florez, president of the GDI-Distinction base unit.

For the occasion, a food truck served meals on the terrace, and families were invited to join in. Smiles, good spirits, and perfect weather were all part of the day, turning this gathering into a warm and joyful way to kick off the new school year.
