Highly competitive working conditions in Montreal’s building services sector
Montreal, April 25, 2025 – The Service Employees Union, Local 800 (SEU 800) is proud to announce the official signing of the new collective agreement for Bee-Clean employees covered by the building services decree in the Montreal region.
The new five-year agreement was ratified following general assemblies held in Montreal and Gatineau on April 12. It introduces a significant enhancement of working conditions, positioning them among the best standards in the industry..
Key gains include:
- Wage increases totaling 20.5% over five years
- Two additional floating leave days
- Access to a fourth week of vacation after eight years of service, instead of ten years previously
“This agreement reflects the priorities expressed by our members: it recognizes the importance of their work and concretely improves their quality of life,” says unit president Walter Orlando Olaya Ramirez.
Beyond the monetary gains, several improvements have been made to the collective agreement:
- Strengthened protection against subcontracting
- Improved communication mechanisms for work routes
- Preservation of seniority in cases of medical leave, for up to two years
The monetary clauses of the new agreement will come into effect upon the promulgation of the decree.

“We are proud of what we have accomplished. In an essential sector like building services, every union achievement makes a real difference for workers. This victory shows that union solidarity pays off,” concludes the negotiating team.
At SEU 800, we believe that by staying united and determined, we can continue to improve working conditions.
