Building services – Quebec region: the union committee takes action!

17 April 2025

Dear members,
As you know, the master collective agreement in the building services sector between the Service Employees Union, Local 800 (SEU 800), and the Corporation des entrepreneurs en entretien ménager de Québec (CEEMQ) will expire on November 1, 2025.

This agreement applies to members working in building services in any of the regions covered by the Quebec Decree. These include: Quebec City, Chaudière-Appalaches, Estrie, Mauricie, Centre-du-Québec, Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Côte-Nord, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, and Nord-du-Québec.

The union negotiating committee has now been formed. Its members are:

  • Mr. Jean-Philippe Duclos (GDI Services (Québec) S.E.C.)
  • Ms. Claudine Lapointe (ML Entretien Multiservices)
  • Ms. Rosmery Esquivel (Maintenance Euréka / Service Sanitaire Frontenac)
  • Mr. Stéphan Forcier (Derko / ServiPro)
  • Mr. Dany Harvey (Services Ménagers Roy)
  • Mr. Alexis Roy représentant syndical UES 800
  • Mr. Michel Tremblay représentant syndical UES 800 et porte-parole syndical

Preparatory meetings for negotiations are scheduled over the coming weeks. These meetings will be used to review member surveys and the demands raised during the general meetings of the affected base units.

Once this work is complete, members whose employer is part of the Corporation will be invited to a general assembly to adopt the union’s demands. These will then be officially submitted to management, paving the way for negotiations to begin.

The stakes in these negotiations will be high. Your presence and participation at the general assembly will be crucial to support the members of your bargaining committee. The stronger our solidarity, the more leverage we’ll have to improve your working conditions—conditions that must reflect the value of your work today and in the years to come.

Stronger together! These two words will guide our efforts to secure a collective agreement that truly reflects your dedication and contributions.

We’ll keep you informed with future updates. Stay tuned!

In solidarity,
Your bargaining committee
