Renewal of the collective agreement for the men’s clothing industry: Another agreement in principle ratified by a majority at SEU 800 before the holidays

The union is proud to announce that members working in the men’s clothing industry in Montreal have accepted by a majority the agreement in principle reached with companies in the men’s clothing industry. The new collective agreement will be in effect for five years and covers the following companies: Jack Victor, Samuelsohn, Empire Clothing and Entoilage Interforme.
The negotiating committee obtained significant gains for workers, such as:
Wages increases
The annual wage increases are as follows:
- 2024: $0,75
- 2025: $0,55
- 2026: $0,55
- 2027: $0,55
- 2028: $0,65
Seniority bonus
A seniority bonus will be payable every December 1st, based on years of service:
- 2 years: 2%
- 5 years: 2.5%
- 10 years: 3%
- 15 years: 3.5%
- 20 years: 4%
New gains
- Addition of a paid holiday: December 24 will now be a paid holiday.
- Illness or accident: An employee will be able to return to work after an absence of 24 months (instead of 18 months).
- Birth or adoption leave: Employees will be able to take 5 days off work. The first 4 days will now be paid (instead of 2).
