BARGAINING MOVES FORWARD!

Dear members,

Negotiations for renewing the building maintenance master agreement between the Service Employees Union Local 800 (UES 800) and the Association des entrepreneurs de services d’édifices Québec Inc. (AESEQ) are progressing. This agreement applies to members working in building maintenance in one of the regions covered by the Montreal decree.

Since the beginning of the negotiations, several meetings have taken place, and the parties are in the process of completing the final modifications to the normative provisions. To ensure progress and that the process is as efficient as possible, the union has agreed to table its monetary demands so that the employers can note them and conduct an accounting analysis to assess what these demands represent.

The parties will focus on the monetary provisions as soon as the final normative provisions have been settled. Several negotiation meetings are scheduled in the coming weeks, and the union will be doing everything in its power to ensure that progress is made. The stakes are high, and we want you to know that your fellow members of the Negotiating Committee, as well as the spokespersons for the SEU 800, will be working together to ensure that you benefit from working conditions fitting with what you are doing in 2024 and what you will be doing in the years to come.
