Every Child Matters
19 September 2024
SEU800 is proud to be associated with the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation:
Every Child Matters
September 30 is the day we recognize and remember the strength of Indigenous residential school survivors. The date of September 30 was not randomly chosen; it reminds us that this is the time of the year when children were taken from their homes and sent to residential schools. For our union, it’s important to take a moment of reflection to remember the cultural genocide that was committed. We invite you to wear an orange sweater and join in the various activities organized on this day. You can consult our website, and we’ll post details of the activities as they become available. For those who live in the Greater Montreal area or will be passing through, a walk is being organized to mark the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. Join us at the FTQ rallying point at the northeast corner of Parc Jeanne-Mance (see attached PDF) at 12:30 pm. The march will start at 1 pm. at the Tam-tams in Parc Mont-Royal: https://www.facebook.com/ResilienceMontreal.
