“United so that our voices can be heard” theme for May 1st

1 May 2024

“United so that our voices can be heard” is the theme of this year’s International Workers’ Day.

United so that our voices can be heard”… to restore social dialogue; to improve working conditions for workers with precarious status, including temporary foreign workers and asylum seekers; for actions to be taken to begin the energy transition and address the climate crisis; for us to apply remedies to the housing crisis together; for governments to finally listen to workers; to enable us to aspire to a life with dignity.

May 1st activities:

  • Montreal: March at 5:30pm, gathering south of François-Perrault Park. (Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/1ermai/?locale=fr_CA)
  • Outaouais: March at 4pm, gathering at Maison du citoyen. After the march, a festive gathering and concert are planned at the Minotaure bar;
  • Quebec City: March at 5pm, meet at Parc Durocher (396 Saint-Vallier West St. Quebec City).

Happy Workers’ Day!
