June 15 – International building maintenance worker Day
15 June 2023
June 15 is internationally recognized as building maintenance workers’ Appreciation Day. For the SEU 800, this day aims to make as many people as possible aware of the importance of the work you do every day in our public buildings.
Negotiations for your collective agreements are fast approaching, and we are proud to represent you. The SEU 800 will put all its energy into obtaining the working conditions you deserve and that are commensurate with your work.
In the coming weeks, you will receive a survey that will allow you to let us know your requests for changes to the collective agreement.
The results of this survey will enable us to prepare the union demands booklet to begin negotiations with employers. It is therefore essential that you submit your demands.
Your demands are important, and your involvement in this negotiation process will make all the difference.
At SEU800, we are aware that the current rise in the cost of living is dealing a heavy blow to the financial situation of many building maintenance workers. So, we want to work hard by negotiating your working conditions that will improve your quality of life.
Let’s not forget that the union’s strength in negotiations lies in numbers and that we must all remain united in order to obtain the best possible conditions.
We’ll keep you posted on the next steps of the bargaining process over the coming months.
In the meantime, we wish you a wonderful summer, and don’t forget to fill in the survey you’ll be receiving soon!
In solidarity!
