Last step of UTIS integration and SEU 800

During a general meeting of the former UTIS union held on November 6, 2009, the members voted unanimously in favor of the integration of their union (UTIS) to the Service Employees Union, local 800.

Since then, the integration was slowly done to the satisfaction to each and all. There was only one aspect left to harmonize to reach a total integration: the standardization of the union dues of all SEU 800 members. This standardization is now completed since January 1st, 2015. Members from UTIS union are now members of the division of Clothing, Hotel and Textile of SEU 800 saw their union dues go from a weekly rate of $9.55 to a rate of 1.75% of their gross salary, as all SEU 800 members.

This harmonization had a positive impact on the majority of the members directly impacted by this change of rate because in the reality, they will benefit of a substantial decrease of their union dues.
