First bargaining session with McGill University Trades, Powerhouse and MacDonald campus groups.

22 October 2013

The first bargaining session with SEU trades and powerhouse took place on October 3. The session kicked off with members of both bargaining committees introducing themselves.  The parties then each presented their full sets of proposals. Finally, the parties discussed what should be considered priority items to be negotiated.

The parties agreed to a shared communications approach throughout the bargaining process, as is the case with the three other bargaining units of SEU currently under way. A meeting schedule was established between now and the end of the year.  The parties agreed to meet for a full day, two weeks out of three.

The 4 bargaining units involved in these negotiations are employees from trades and employees from powerhouse downtown, and employees from trades and employees from powerhouse Macdonald campus, represented by SEU, local 800 (Service Employees Union, local section 800, affiliated with the Quebec Labour Federation).
