Some progress in talks with McGill University

30 May 2013

At the May 23 bargaining session, the parties signed off on changes to the article relating to the relocation procedure when a position is abolished, proposed by the university in earlier sessions. The article on proposed working hours in Food and Dining Services was discussed in detail with both parties expressing their objectives and concerns. The parties agreed to continue discussing this item at the next meeting.

The proposed letter of agreement relating to a change of shift will be modified, based on suggestions from the union, and should be ratified at the next meeting.  Both parties established a list of items to be discussed at the next two meetings, scheduled for May 29 and June 12.  Items to be negotiated were chosen on the basis that there will be enough time to progress and complete the discussions before the parties break for the summer vacation period.
